The Education Committee met for its first face to face meeting on May 1 in Chicago. They have been very busy working on the follow up evaluations of IMSH 2009 and preparing for IMSH 2010. We are working hard to streamline the process for IMSH faculty as they prepare their high-quality educational content and while meeting strict guidelines for physician and nursing continuing education. In addition, we are helping coordinate an augmented immersive component of the meeting to allow more IMSH attendees to experience simulation. Another face-to-face meeting is planned in October, 2009 where we will also help finalize the program for IMSH 2010 with key members of the Planning Committee.
In March, SSH had the ACCME interview and we are awaiting the results - we should know more in July. The committee had serious discussions about the needs of our members and how we can best meet those needs! Lots of exciting ideas were generated, such as webinars, online CME and regional courses. If you have any ideas, please let us know! With the addition of Kim Blackman as our CME Director, we now have more time to devote to the educational needs of our members and how to meet them.
Watch your email for a follow up evaluation from IMSH 2009. We would like to know if you were able to apply anything you learned at the annual meeting and, if not, what barriers you encountered. We would also like to know HOW we can help you achieve your professional simulation objectives.
Thanks for your continued support,
