Message From The Executive Director
Robin Wootten

Hello! Welcome to our inaugural issue of the Society for Simulation Newsletter. We plan to update you at least twice each year about the exciting things happening in our committees and the central office. Since January, it has been a whirlwind of activity in the central office. We posted two jobs on the website and our members sent us JUST the people we were looking for. I would like to welcome the following additions to our staff:

Bonnie Howard - Administrative Assistant: Bonnie began working with me in February of 2009. She lives in Tipton and provides 20-30 hours of great assistance to us every week. When not working, Bonnie enjoys her weekly golf games with her husband Norm and keeping up with her grandkids.

Stas Jourin - Stas started May 1 as our Web Content Producer/Director of Communications. He has BIG plans for our website - be sure to keep an eye out for some EXCITING changes over the next few months. When not creating wonderful things for the SSH, Stas enjoys running and spending time with his wife in New York City.

Kim Blackman - Kim started May 11 as our Director of Continuing Education. Kim will be developing our continuing education program and helping us to meet the requirements for our ACCME Accreditation as well as apply for other Accreditations for our Society. When not working, Kim enjoys golfing with her husband Wayne, keeping up with her two college-aged boys and living in Kirksville, MO.

We also contract with two employees:

Judy Larson will once again be planning our International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare and handling our membership services. When not planning our meetings or talking to our members, Judy enjoys shopping and spending time with her two great kids in Minnesota.

Bryce Denton is our bookkeeper and works for an Association Management company called IntrinXec Management, Inc. Bryce works with me and our Treasurer to make sure we are financially sound. When not working, Bryce enjoys playing hockey and spoiling his nieces and nephews.

We have put together an Organizational Chart for our members to be sure you can connect with us whenever you need us. Click here to check it out >>

Thank you for allowing me to lead your organization. My vision is that we can grow this society enough through social networking and membership that we can truly make a difference for patients through simulation.

Robin Wootten, MBA, RN
