More than 1600 simulation professionals participated in IMSH 2009, January 10-14 at Disney's Contemporary Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The expanded program offered a solid base for continuing education and attendees selected from 30 Expert Panels, 30 Workshops, 10 Roundtables, and 13 Post Graduate courses. Latest in simulation research was presented in 91 Research Abstracts and the packed exhibit hall of nearly 80 exhibitors displayed the latest in equipment and technology. Whether members were looking for education, special interest groups, networking or an energetic Tuesday night Caribbean Party, IMSH 2009 held something for everyone. The annual meeting ended on a high note with attendees looking forward to the 10th Anniversary IMSH in Phoenix, January 2010.
January, 2010 will mark the 10th anniversary of The International Meeting of Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH). To celebrate such a milestone, we have rented the exhibit hall in Phoenix, Arizona and look forward to carrying on the wonderful tradition that was started in 2000. This year we are truly "at the threshold of a new frontier". We will look back on our exciting past in a rapidly growing field but also look down the path of innovation and change that the Society for Simulation in Healthcare fosters. As the largest international gathering of simulation enthusiasts, IMSH 2010 will bring together a wide range of educators, researchers, developers, patient safety advocates and others from around the globe: to meet and exchange ideas, to experience and reflect, to learn and transform. The IMSH 2010 Planning Committee is already hard at work developing the program, from pre-conference courses to immersive experiences throughout the meeting. We look forward to welcoming you to Phoenix January 23-27th, 2010. Watch your email and the website and plan now to save your spot by registering in July, 2009. Hope to see you there!
Walter Eppich and Katie Walker, Co-Chairs, IMSH 2010
